Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a common condition that develops when fatty deposits build up in the arteries restricting blood supply to the muscles in the legs. The primary symptom of PAD is experienced as pain in the legs after physical activity such as walking and exercising. It could also manifest as rest pain when you are sitting and relaxing. This assessment is performed on patients with diabetes or patients over the age of 60 years.
